Just Dance 3: A Phenomenal Success and Evolution of the Dance Rhythm Series

Just Dance 3, released by Ubisoft in 2011, marked the third main installment in the popular dance rhythm game series and achieved massive commercial success, becoming the best-selling third-party Wii game of all time with an impressive 9.92 million units sold. Available on Wii, Xbox 360 (supporting Kinect), and PlayStation 3 (supporting Move), the game challenged up to four players to mirror on-screen choreography from a diverse tracklist of 57 songs.

It introduced several engaging new features, including the "Dance Crew" mode where four players each perform unique routines, and unlockable "Dance Mashups" that combined moves from previous games. Platform-specific innovations further enhanced gameplay; the Xbox 360 version allowed players to create and share custom routines in "Just Create" mode and use voice recognition for bonus points with its "Shout Out" feature. Launched in North America in October 2011 (Wii/Xbox 360) and December 2011 (PlayStation 3), Just Dance 3 received positive reviews for its expanded party features, though downloadable content was not available for the PS3 version.
