Tropical Storm Raymond was the 19th named storm of the 2025 Pacific hurricane season, forming on October 9 from a trough off Mexico's southwestern coast. It briefly reached peak intensity on October 10 with 60 mph (95 km/h) winds, but strong wind shear and dry air quickly caused it to weaken into a remnant low by October 11, dissipating in the Gulf of California the next day. In preparation, authorities issued tropical storm warnings, cancelled classes across Jalisco and Oaxaca, and closed major ports like Acapulco and Zihuatanejo. The storm's primary impact was heavy rainfall, which triggered flash flooding and mudslides—inundating roughly 1,260 homes in Puerto Vallarta and forcing evacuations in Baja California Sur. Ultimately, Raymond claimed four lives and caused more than US$1.27 million in damage before its remnants fully dissipated on October 12.
