Anicet Francois Dybantsa Jr. (born January 29, 2007) is a professional basketball player for the Washington Wizards, who selected him first overall in the 2026 NBA draft and inked him to a four-year, $66.91 million rookie contract. In his sole college season at BYU, he led the nation in scoring during 2025-26, captured the Julius Erving Award, and broke Danny Ainge's freshman scoring record with a 43-point outburst against Utah. A dominant high school prospect, Dybantsa earned Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year honors and eventually reclassified from the 2026 to the 2025 class before committing to the Cougars. On the international stage, he has collected gold medals at the FIBA U16, U17, and U19 World Cups, earning tournament MVP honors at the 2025 U19 event. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton, he comes from a multicultural family with a Congolese-French father and Jamaican mother, and counts soccer star Michael Olise as his favorite athlete.
