CBS Sports Network

CBS Sports Network is an American cable and satellite channel owned by the CBS Entertainment Group, originally launched in 2002 as the National College Sports Network (later College Sports Television or CSTV) to provide 24/7 college sports coverage. After being acquired by CBS in 2006, the network was rebranded as CBS College Sports Network in 2008 and then re-positioned as the mainstream CBS Sports Network in February 2011, expanding beyond college athletics to include smaller leagues, studio analysis shows, and simulcasts of radio programs like WFAN. Notably, it was the first independent pay-TV channel distributed nationally on DirecTV, and its first broadcast featured a Connecticut-Notre Dame women's basketball game. The network has been headquartered in New York City, with its operations moving from Chelsea Piers to the CBS Broadcast Center in 2012. As of May 2015, it reached approximately 61 million pay-TV households, though updated figures have not been released by Paramount in nearly a decade.
