Jeffrey Chidera Okudah, born on February 2, 1999, is an American professional football cornerback currently with the Minnesota Vikings. He made a significant impact during his college career at Ohio State, earning unanimous All-American honors in 2019 and being named a finalist for the prestigious Jim Thorpe Award. Following his stellar collegiate performance, Okudah was selected third overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2020 NFL Draft, signing a substantial $33.5 million rookie contract.
However, his professional journey has been marked by significant injury setbacks, including a core muscle injury and a ruptured Achilles tendon during his tenure with the Lions. Since then, Okudah has moved between multiple teams, playing for the Atlanta Falcons (acquired in 2023) and the Houston Texans (2024). He is most recently set to join the Minnesota Vikings, having signed a one-year contract in March 2025.
