Donald John Trump, born June 14, 1946, is an American politician and businessman who served as the 45th U.S. President from 2017 to 2021 and is currently the 47th. After a career building a real estate empire and hosting the reality show The Apprentice, Trump won the 2016 presidential election as a political outsider. His first term was marked by policies such as tax cuts, expanding the border wall, withdrawals from international agreements, and two impeachments, followed by attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

In an unprecedented turn of events, Trump became the first U.S. president convicted of a felony in 2024 for falsifying business records, despite also being found liable in prior civil cases for sexual abuse and fraud. Nevertheless, he went on to win the 2024 presidential election against Kamala Harris. His current second presidency is characterized by mass layoffs, high tariffs, and numerous executive orders, which have prompted over 300 lawsuits and frequent conflicts with federal courts, with many actions being described as illegal or unconstitutional.
