Keenan Allen (born April 27, 1992) is a veteran NFL wide receiver currently playing for the Indianapolis Colts, but he is best known for his standout 11-season tenure with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers. After a record-breaking college career at Cal—where he set a school mark with 205 receptions—he was drafted by the Chargers in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft, sliding due to a knee injury. He quickly proved his worth by setting franchise rookie records for catches and receiving yards, and he went on to earn six Pro Bowl selections and the 2017 NFL Comeback Player of the Year award. Allen holds the Chargers' all-time record for receptions and is one of just two players in franchise history to exceed 10,000 career receiving yards. Originally a top-rated safety recruit, he switched his commitment to Cal to play receiver with his half-brother Zach Maynard, and he also showcased his athletic versatility in high school with a 7.01-meter long jump and an 11.2-second 100-meter dash.
