The Transportation Research Center (TRC) is North America's largest multi-user automotive proving ground, encompassing 4,500 acres in East Liberty, Ohio. Operated by TRC Inc., it uniquely hosts the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) Vehicle Research and Test Center, making it the only such site with a government research facility on premises. TRC conducts comprehensive testing for safety, emissions, fuel economy, and performance across a wide range of vehicles, from passenger cars to heavy trucks.

Established by The Ohio State University (OSU) in 1962 and opening in 1974, the property was sold to Honda in 1988, though TRC Inc. (owned by OSU) continues to manage it as an independent test site. Its impressive facilities include a 7.5-mile high-speed test track with banking for speeds up to 140 mph, and a 50-acre vehicle dynamics area, all crucial for advancing transportation safety and technology.
