Jalen Carter (born April 4, 2001) is a dominant defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, who selected him 9th overall in the 2023 NFL draft following a spectacular college career at Georgia. As a Bulldog, he was a unanimous All-American in 2022 and a critical piece of the team's back-to-back CFP national championships in 2021 and 2022. In his rookie season, Carter recorded 6 sacks, 33 tackles, and scored his first NFL touchdown on a 42-yard fumble return, earning a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. The following year, he secured his first Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro selections, highlighted by a pivotal sack on Matthew Stafford in the snowy Divisional Round that helped clinch a playoff victory. He then capped the 2024 season by playing an instrumental role in the Eagles' 40-22 Super Bowl LIX win over the Kansas City Chiefs, though his aggressive style also led to several league fines during the campaign.
