Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, a 4X turn-based strategy game, was developed by Firaxis Games with Sid Meier as designer and released in 2008. This spin-off of the main Civilization series was available on platforms including PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and iOS.
Gameplay begins in 4000 BC, tasking players with founding cities, harvesting resources, researching technologies, and building military units and wonders to expand their civilization. Players engage with rival civilizations, progressing through turns where time accelerates from 100 years to just two.
The ultimate goal is to achieve one of five distinct victory conditions: Domination (capturing capital cities), Culture (amassing great persons/wonders and building the United Nations), Economic (acquiring 20,000 gold and building the World Bank), Technological (launching a spaceship to Alpha Centauri), or Score (highest score by 2100 AD). A sequel, Civilization Revolution 2, was released in 2014, though the original game was removed from the iOS App Store on September 1, 2016.
