The 2025 Florida Gators football team, representing the University of Florida in the SEC, entered the season with major hype after finishing 8–5 the prior year, but the campaign quickly unraveled. Led by head coach Billy Napier, the team suffered a shocking 18–16 loss to USF—an 18.5-point underdog—and after a narrow 23–21 win over Mississippi State, Napier was fired on October 19, with Billy Gonzales taking over as interim coach. Though Gonzales’s start looked promising with a close 24–20 loss to top-five Georgia, Florida then spiraled, losing its next three games by an average of 17 points. The season ended on a high note, however, as running back Jadan Baugh rushed for 266 yards—the second-most in school history—in a dominant 40–21 rout of archrival Florida State. Finishing 4–8, the Gators narrowly avoided their worst record since 1979, while still drawing an impressive average home attendance of 90,125, the 10th-highest of any football team in the world.
