Jared Verse (born November 4, 2000, in Dayton, Ohio) is a professional football defensive end who currently plays for the Cleveland Browns after a standout start to his NFL career. He played college football at Albany, where he was the 2020 CAA Defensive Rookie of the Year, before transferring to Florida State, where he earned two consecutive All-American honors. Selected 19th overall by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 NFL Draft, Verse made an immediate splash, winning the 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and earning a Pro Bowl nod. His rookie highlights included a 57-yard fumble recovery touchdown in the playoffs and a game-sealing strip sack against the Saints. In 2025, he continued to shine with 7.5 sacks and a 76-yard blocked field goal return for a touchdown, earning his second Pro Bowl selection. On June 1, 2026, the Rams traded Verse to the Cleveland Browns, solidifying his status as one of the league's most dynamic young edge rushers.
