Mr. T and Tina was a short-lived American sitcom and a spin-off of Welcome Back, Kotter, starring Pat Morita and Susan Blanchard, that aired on ABC from September 25 to October 30, 1976. The show followed Taro Takahashi (Morita), a widowed Japanese inventor who moves to Chicago with his family and hires the free-spirited American Tina Kelly (Blanchard) as a live-in governess, with the comedy stemming from their cross-cultural clashes. Notably, it was one of the first television shows to feature a predominantly Asian-American cast, though the lead role was originally played by George Takei in the first pilot before being recast with Morita to target a broader audience.
