Luke Fickell (born August 18, 1973) is the head football coach at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a role he has held since 2022. A former standout nose guard at Ohio State, he set a school record with 50 consecutive starts and helped the Buckeyes win the 1997 Rose Bowl. After a brief NFL stint, Fickell returned to Ohio State as an assistant, serving as interim head coach in 2011 and later winning the 2014 CFP National Championship as co-defensive coordinator under Urban Meyer. He became head coach at the University of Cincinnati in 2016, where he engineered a historic turnaround, leading the Bearcats to back-to-back 11-win seasons in 2018 and 2019 and earning AAC Coach of the Year honors. His success in Cincinnati paved the way for his current position at Wisconsin, making him one of the most respected coaches in college football.
