In a closely watched race, incumbent Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen narrowly won re-election in Nevada on November 5, 2024, defeating Republican challenger Sam Brown. Despite Donald Trump winning the state's presidential electoral votes on the same ballot, Rosen secured a 1.7% victory margin (about 24,000 votes), taking 47.9% of the vote to Brown's 46.2%. Rosen significantly overperformed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, carrying the pivotal Clark and Washoe counties by much larger margins and beating Harris's statewide performance by nearly 5 points. The primaries were held on June 11, 2024, and although Nevada is a crucial swing state, Rosen was favored throughout the campaign and led in most polls. Her win continues a Democratic hold on Nevada's Senate seats, as no Republican has won a Senate race there since 2012.
