Deion Sanders (born August 9, 1967), nicknamed "Prime Time" and "Coach Prime," is a legendary dual-sport athlete who currently serves as the head football coach at the University of Colorado Boulder, a role he has held since 2023. He is the only person in history to have played in both a Super Bowl and a World Series, winning two Super Bowls (with the 49ers and Cowboys) and appearing in the 1992 World Series with the Atlanta Braves. Over his 14-season NFL career as a cornerback, he earned eight Pro Bowl and six first-team All-Pro selections, while also playing nine seasons in MLB, leading to his induction into both the Pro Football and College Football Hall of Fame in 2011. Before taking over at Colorado, he coached Jackson State University from 2020 to 2022, leading the team to two Celebration Bowl appearances and its first undefeated regular season in school history. A standout at Florida State University, he won the Jim Thorpe Award in 1988 and was a two-time unanimous All-American, with his No. 2 jersey retired in 1995. Interestingly, he changed the spelling of his first name from "Dion" to "Deion" as a child after learning the nursery rhyme "Old MacDonald Had a Farm."
