Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Doomsday is an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, serving as the sequel to Avengers: Endgame (2019) and directed by the Russo brothers. The plot sees heroes from different universes—including the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, and X-Men—converge to face the villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who returns to the MCU in a new role. Originally announced in July 2022 as The Kang Dynasty starring Jonathan Majors, the project was retitled Doomsday in July 2024 after Majors was fired and Downey was cast as the new antagonist. The film features a massive ensemble cast, including Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers (potentially as Nomad), Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. Filming took place from April to September 2025 in England and Bahrain, and the movie is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six. A sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is set to follow on December 17, 2027.
