Tyler Lepley (born March 24, 1987) is an American actor best known for his role as Benjamin "Benny" Young on Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots, the first scripted series to air on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Raised in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, as a biracial child of Italian and Jamaican descent, he initially pursued football, earning a scholarship to Kutztown University and graduating with a criminal justice degree in 2010 before relocating to Los Angeles in 2011. After being discovered at a boxing gym, he landed his breakout role in 2013—a casting process that famously included Perry auditioning him while dressed as his Madea character—and later appeared in Baggage Claim, Ringside, P-Valley, and Harlem. In his personal life, he married actress Miracle Watts in Mexico on July 25, 2026, and the couple welcomed their son Xi Lei in October 2022, while he also has two children, Leo and Jade, from a previous relationship. Beyond acting, Lepley ventured into the restaurant business with Lepley’s Kitchen & Lounge in Tampa, which permanently closed in late 2025.
