Sport Club Corinthians Paulista is a major Brazilian sports club based in São Paulo, best known for its professional football team competing in the top tiers of Brazilian football. Founded on September 1, 1910, by five railway workers inspired by London's Corinthian FC, the club has grown into a powerhouse with over 30 million fans, making it the second most supported team in Brazil. Corinthians plays at the Neo Química Arena, which hosted the opening match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and boasts a rich domestic history, including a record 31 São Paulo state championships, seven national titles, and four Copa do Brasil trophies.
