Samuel L. Smith (born June 4, 2004) is a rising American stock car racing driver currently competing full-time in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series for JR Motorsports and part-time in the Craftsman Truck Series for Spire Motorsports. His career began at age eight in go-karts, and he made his CARS Tour debut at just 14 years old in May 2019. Smith achieved major success in the ARCA Menards Series, winning back-to-back East Series championships in 2021 (with Joe Gibbs Racing) and 2022 (with Kyle Busch Motorsports). In 2022, he also earned his first main ARCA wins at Berlin and Elko—dominating the latter by leading 233 laps—while skipping four races due to age restrictions before turning 18. His talent earned him a NASCAR Xfinity Series opportunity with Joe Gibbs Racing starting at Road America in June 2022, and he has since moved to JR Motorsports, solidifying his status as one of NASCAR's most promising young talents.
