Jaelan Phillips, born May 28, 1999, is an American professional football linebacker currently playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, who was a top high school prospect before his college career at UCLA. His path included a medical retirement from UCLA in 2018 due to multiple injuries—even being hit by a car—which led him to study music production before making a remarkable return to football with the Miami Hurricanes in 2020, where he earned First-team All-American honors.

Phillips was a first-round pick (18th overall) for the Miami Dolphins in the 2021 NFL Draft, quickly making his mark with 8.5 sacks as a rookie and earning a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. During his tenure with the Dolphins from 2021 to 2025, he accumulated impressive statistics, including 26.0 sacks and 177 total tackles. Despite his success, Phillips has faced recent challenges, suffering season-ending injuries in both the 2023 (Achilles) and 2024 (knee) seasons before joining the Eagles for the 2025 season.
