Anthony Marshon Davis Jr., often called "AD" or "the Brow," born March 11, 1993, is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks and is widely regarded as one of the greatest power forwards of all time. A ten-time NBA All-Star and named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, Davis had a dominant single season at Kentucky, leading them to the 2012 NCAA national championship and earning Consensus National Player of the Year. He was then drafted as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.
After an impressive early career, including being named 2017 NBA All-Star Game MVP, Davis was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019, where he played a pivotal role in their 2020 NBA championship victory and the inaugural NBA Cup in 2023. In a highly unexpected move, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in February 2025 in exchange for Luka Dončić. Davis has also achieved significant international success, winning three gold medals with the U.S. national team at the 2012 and 2024 Olympics and the 2014 World Cup, making him one of only eight players to complete the basketball Triple Crown.
