Marcus Mariota is an American professional football quarterback currently playing for the Washington Commanders in the NFL. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he rose to prominence playing college football for the Oregon Ducks. In 2014, Mariota made history by becoming the first Hawaii-born athlete and the first player from Oregon to win the prestigious Heisman Trophy.

He was selected second overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL Draft, where he led the team to three consecutive winning seasons from 2016 to 2018. After being replaced as the starter during the 2019 season, Mariota went on to play for the Las Vegas Raiders and started for the Atlanta Falcons in 2022, before joining the Philadelphia Eagles and then the Commanders in 2024.
