The Center for Transportation Research (CTR) is a leading research and educational institution affiliated with The University of Texas at Austin's Cockrell School of Engineering. Established in 1979 by merging two earlier centers from 1963 and 1972, CTR conducts extensive research across critical areas such as concrete and materials, pavement rehabilitation, bridge design, sustainable transportation, and technological innovations. Annually, it manages over 100 projects with budgets exceeding $13 million, involving numerous faculty, professional researchers, and students.

CTR's significant work is primarily sponsored by entities like the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the U.S. Department of Transportation. The center also partners with various other research bodies and hosts an annual symposium to present findings. Since 2018, Amit Bhasin has served as its director, continuing its legacy of advancing transportation solutions.
