The Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AUAC) is a prominent state university in Baku specializing in civil engineering and architecture. Originating as a faculty in 1920, it was formally established as the independent Azerbaijan Civil Engineering Institute in 1975, later achieving university status in 1992 and its current name in 2000 under President Heydar Aliyev.
AUAC boasts a large academic staff of 700, including many highly qualified professors and doctors, offering diverse majors from industrial construction to architectural design and restoration. The university has a strong international focus, educating specialists for over 40 countries since 1977 and currently hosting around 400 foreign students from 15 nations. Its global standing is further cemented by the 5-year accreditation from the prestigious Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for its Architecture Faculty, alongside collaborations with numerous universities worldwide.
