Heroes is an American superhero drama created by Tim Kring that aired on NBC from September 25, 2006, to February 8, 2010, following ordinary people who discover they have superhuman abilities and must work together to prevent catastrophic futures. The critically acclaimed first season averaged 14.3 million viewers—the highest for an NBC drama premiere in five years—and the show earned numerous awards, including Primetime Emmys and Golden Globes. The series featured one of the largest ensemble casts on television, including Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli (ability mimicry), Hayden Panettiere as Claire Bennet (regeneration), Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura (space-time manipulation), and Ali Larter, who played both Niki Sanders and later Tracy Strauss.
