The Sunrise Musical Theater, a prominent performing arts center in Sunrise, Florida, officially opened on December 29, 1976, with a performance by Bobby Vinton, following an unofficial debut two days prior. Boasting a seating capacity of 3,732, it quickly became a popular venue for an incredibly diverse array of legendary artists, including Frank Sinatra, Elton John, The Police, Diana Ross, Bob Dylan, The Jacksons, and Eagles, among many others. Beyond its musical spectacles, the theater also made a unique mark in boxing history on August 8, 1987, when International Boxing Hall of Famer Aaron Pryor suffered his only professional defeat there. After decades as a significant cultural hub, the facility transitioned in 2002, becoming the home of worship for Faith Center Ministries.
