Jayden Dalke

Jayden Dalke (June 8, 1996 – July 18, 2026) was a Canadian professional football player for the Saskatchewan Roughriders who defied his 5'9" stature to become a standout in the CFL. After earning All-Canadian honors at the University of Alberta, he was drafted in 2022 and helped the Roughriders win the 112th Grey Cup in 2025. Tragically, Dalke died on July 18, 2026, in a wrong-way traffic collision near Lumsden, Saskatchewan, at age 30, which also killed another driver, Bhishma Rajyaguru. Police found alcohol and cannabis in his vehicle, and he had allegedly left a gas station without paying shortly before the crash. In a poignant tribute, the Roughriders held a moment of silence and deliberately took a time count penalty on their first punt in his honor, which the opposing Elks declined.
