Olve Eikemo, better known as Abbath Doom Occulta (born 1973), is a Norwegian black metal musician and a founding member of the legendary band Immortal. Before forming Immortal in 1991 with guitarist Demonaz, he played in Old Funeral, and he is renowned for his versatility—having played guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, even recording all drums on Pure Holocaust and Battles in the North. After Demonaz was forced to quit guitar due to tendinitis in 1997, Abbath took over guitar duties, leading to the stylistic shift on At the Heart of Winter (1999), though the band split in 2003 before reuniting in 2006. He left Immortal in 2015 following a legal battle over the band's trademark, subsequently forming his own eponymous band Abbath, which released Abbath (2016), Outstrider (2019), and Dread Reaver (2022). He also worked on the side project I, whose debut Between Two Worlds came out in 2006. Influenced early on by Kiss, Venom, and Bathory, his career has been marked by constant evolution and a fierce dedication to the black metal genre.
