The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) is the federal executive department responsible for enforcing national laws and administering justice, currently headed by Attorney General Todd Blanche, who reports directly to the President. It oversees major law enforcement agencies like the FBI, DEA, ATF, and the U.S. Marshals Service, along with eight legal divisions and U.S. Attorneys' offices in all 94 federal districts. While the office of Attorney General dates back to the Judiciary Act of 1789, the DOJ itself was created by Congress in 1870 under President Ulysses S.
