Eleven Mile State Park is a 7,662-acre Colorado State Park established in 1970, located 11 miles south of Lake George in Park County. The park surrounds the 3,405-acre Eleven Mile Canyon Reservoir, created by a concrete arch dam completed in 1932 by Denver Water—a structure 151 feet high that stores up to 128,000 acre-feet of water for municipal use. The reservoir is famous for its thriving Kokanee salmon population, especially along the "Dream Stream" river current, alongside cutthroat, rainbow, and brown trout, with specific daily possession limits for anglers. Visitors can enjoy over 300 campsites, a marina, a visitor center, and 5 miles of trails, while wildlife such as mule deer, pronghorn, black bear, and elk are occasionally spotted. Just below the dam, the Eleven Mile Canyon Recreation Area within Pike National Forest offers rock climbing and picnicking, and features three historic tunnels from the old Midland Railway route. The park is also known for being quite windy in the afternoons, and a daily vehicle pass is required for entry.
