J.K. Dobbins (born December 17, 1998) is a professional football running back who currently plays for the Denver Broncos, but he first rose to fame as a record-breaking star at Ohio State before being drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round (55th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. During his college career, he made history in 2019 by becoming the only Buckeye to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season, finishing sixth in Heisman Trophy voting and earning first-team All-American honors. His freshman year was equally impressive—he set Ohio State's freshman rushing record with 1,403 yards and won MVP of the 2017 Cotton Bowl. In the NFL, he spent four seasons with the Ravens—scoring two touchdowns in his Week 1 debut in 2020—before joining the Los Angeles Chargers for the 2024 season and eventually landing with the Broncos. Off the field, Dobbins hails from La Grange, Texas, where he amassed over 5,000 rushing yards and 74 touchdowns in high school, a journey shaped by his mother's decision to keep him after initially considering an abortion at an abortion clinic.
