David Njoku (born July 10, 1996) is an NFL tight end currently with the Los Angeles Chargers, though he first made his mark with the Cleveland Browns, who selected him 29th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. Of Nigerian Igbo heritage, he was a standout athlete at the University of Miami, even winning a national high jump championship in high school before focusing on football. With the Browns, he blossomed into a reliable receiver, posting a career-best 56 catches in 2018 before injuries—including a broken wrist in 2019 and a knee issue in 2020—temporarily slowed his momentum. He rebounded in 2021 with a spectacular 149-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Chargers, showcasing his explosive playmaking ability.
