Christian Gonzalez (born June 28, 2002) is an American football cornerback for the New England Patriots, who selected him in the first round (17th overall) of the 2023 NFL draft. Before turning pro, he played college football at Colorado and Oregon, earning first-team All-Pac-12 honors with the Ducks in 2022. In his rookie season, he impressed early, winning Defensive Rookie of the Month for September after recording an interception and a sack, but his year was cut short in Week 4 due to a torn labrum and dislocated shoulder. He finished his debut campaign with 17 tackles and three pass deflections across four starts, and he signed a fully guaranteed 4-year, $15.1 million rookie contract. Off the field, he is the younger brother of hurdler Melissa Gonzalez and the brother-in-law of NFL coach David Blough.
