Joey Porter Jr. (born July 26, 2000) is an American football cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, following in the footsteps of his father, former NFL linebacker Joey Porter. After playing college ball at Penn State, he was drafted by the Steelers in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft, a pick acquired in a mid-season trade that sent wide receiver Chase Claypool to the Bears. In his rookie season, Porter became a starter and made a memorable game-sealing interception against Lamar Jackson in a comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens, finishing the year with 43 tackles and 10 pass deflections. Despite being named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team, his debut season was also marked by frequent penalties, as his 12 flags tied for sixth-most in the NFL. He signed a four-year, $9.61 million contract on his 23rd birthday, solidifying his role as a key piece of Pittsburgh's defense.
