Annette Leslie Jones (born September 7, 1967, in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American comedian and actress best known for her roles on Saturday Night Live and in the film Ghostbusters. After a challenging start in stand-up comedy, her career was catapulted in 2013 when Chris Rock helped her secure an audition for SNL, where she became a cast member and writer from 2014 to 2019. She gained critical acclaim for her work on the show, earning Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in both 2017 and 2018. Beyond her television success, Jones starred as Patty Tolan in the 2016 reboot Ghostbusters and later hosted the ABC game show Supermarket Sweep. Her journey to fame was unconventional, including a three-year hiatus from comedy following a poor experience opening for Jamie Foxx.
