The 2019 Weber State Wildcats football team, coached by Jay Hill in his fifth season, achieved an impressive 11–4 record and claimed a share of the Big Sky Conference championship with Sacramento State, securing the league's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs. Though preseason polls (released July 15, 2019) projected them to finish third, they entered the postseason as the number three seed with a first-round bye after a strong regular season. In the playoffs, they defeated Kennesaw State in the second round and Montana in the quarterfinals, before ultimately losing to James Madison in the semifinals. A standout aspect was their roster depth, as they led the conference with seven players selected to the preseason All-Big Sky team. Their home games were played at Stewart Stadium, and the team finished the year ranked among the top FCS programs.
