The Parliament of India is the supreme legislative body of the Republic, featuring a bicameral structure with the Rajya Sabha (Council of States) and the Lok Sabha (House of the People). It holds the distinction of representing the world's largest democratic electorate, encompassing an astounding 968 million eligible voters in 2024. Its origins trace from the British Imperial Legislative Council, transitioning to the current Parliament in 1950 following India's independence in 1947 and the framing of its Constitution.

The iconic Old Parliament House (Samvidhan Sadan), designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, opened on 18 January 1927 and is historically significant as the place where the Indian Constitution was framed. Complementing this, a modern New Parliament Building, Sansad Bhavan, was inaugurated on 28 May 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
