Zindagi (TV channel)

Zee Zindagi is an Indian general entertainment channel owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL), which launched on 23 June 2014 with a unique strategy of airing short-run serials and syndicated content from countries like Turkey, South Korea, and Brazil rather than indefinite soap operas. It made headlines by ending the Pakistani show Aunn Zara after just 20 days, but later dropped all Pakistani programming following the 2016 Uri terror attack. The channel shifted to a digital-only format on 1 July 2017, subsequently rebranding as Zindagi Digital on the ZEE5 streaming platform in February 2018 to stream exclusive international shows in 12 languages. After initially ruling out a TV comeback in 2020, Zindagi returned to linear television via DTH services (Tata Play, Dish TV, etc.) on 23 May 2022, focusing on poignant cross-border originals like Dhoop Ki Deewar, which won accolades at the Promax 2022 Awards. Finally, as of 1 May 2025, Pakistani YouTube channels like HUM TV have become inaccessible in India due to government orders, impacting the cross-border content that Zindagi has long championed.
