The Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) is an independent, non-profit green think tank dedicated to analyzing and developing environmental policy across Europe. Established in Bonn in 1976 by the European Cultural Foundation, its first director, Konrad von Moltke, quickly opened offices in Paris (1978) and London (1980) to ensure a truly European presence. IEEP was instrumental in raising awareness of environmental policy through its monthly bulletin, "The Environment in Europe," sent to parliamentarians and ministries. Recognizing the importance of proximity to EU decision-makers, the institute opened its main office in Brussels in 2001. Today, IEEP conducts extensive research and provides consultancy on a wide range of EU environmental and sustainable development policies, including agriculture, climate change, and biodiversity, with the aim of advancing sustainable policy-making.
