CF Pachuca, a professional football club based in Pachuca, Hidalgo, was founded in 1892 by British miners from Cornwall who worked for the Real del Monte y Pachuca mining company. Refounded in its current form in 1960, the club—nicknamed Tuzos (miners) in tribute to its mining heritage—competes in Liga MX and plays its home matches at Estadio Hidalgo. A historic institution, it was a founding member of the Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association in 1902, the first amateur football league in Mexico. Domestically, Pachuca has captured seven Liga MX titles, while internationally it has won six CONCACAF Champions Cup crowns, along with a CONMEBOL Sudamericana and a North American SuperLiga. The club has also made a global impact, finishing third at the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup and reaching the final of the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
