Casper Ruud (born 22 December 1998) is a Norwegian tennis player who reached a career-high world No. 2 in September 2022, making him the highest-ranked Norwegian in tennis history. He has won 14 ATP Tour titles, including a Masters 1000 at the 2025 Madrid Open, and was a runner-up at three Grand Slams—the 2022 French Open, 2022 US Open, and 2023 French Open—as well as the 2022 ATP Finals. From September 2021 to November 2023, he spent 113 consecutive weeks in the top 10, and he was previously the junior world No. 1 in 2016. In doubles, he reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2021 and the 2025 US Open mixed doubles final with partner Iga Świątek. Admired for his professional demeanor, he received the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award in 2022. Ruud’s early career was defined by winning the Copa Sevilla Challenger in 2016 and reaching the 2017 Rio Open semifinals, which propelled him toward the elite of the sport.
