A chilling Canadian thriller miniseries is heading to Netflix, created, written, and showrun by Jesse McKeown, and starring Josh Hartnett, Mackenzie Davis, and Charlie Heaton. The six-episode limited series, ordered by Netflix in February 2025, follows a hard-bitten fisherman (played by Hartnett) in a remote Newfoundland town who must battle a mysterious sea creature to protect his family, community, and vanishing way of life. Casting rolled out through 2025, with Hartnett tapped for the lead in May, Davis joining in June, and further additions like Charlie Heaton, Natasha Henstridge, Joshua Close, Rohan Campbell, Willow Kean, Ruby Stokes, and Kaleb Horn filling out the roster by August. Production began filming in June 2025 under directors Jamie Child, Helen Shaver, and Stephen Dunn. The show will get a preview screening at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival before all episodes drop on Netflix on October 8, 2026.
