Jalen Ramsey (born October 24, 1994) is a professional football safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, though he is best known as a shutdown cornerback. After winning a national championship at Florida State in 2013, he was drafted fifth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016, quickly becoming an All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2017 while helping snap the team's 10-year playoff drought. A fallout with Jacksonville led to a 2019 trade to the Los Angeles Rams, where he signed a record-breaking contract in 2020 as the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history and won Super Bowl LVI. He was later traded to the Miami Dolphins in 2023 and then to the Steelers two years later. Off the field, Ramsey was a phenomenal track athlete in high school, setting a Tennessee state long jump record of 25 feet 3.25 inches and running a blistering 10.50-second 100-meter dash.
