Rogers Stadium is a temporary, open-air concert venue built on the former Downsview Airport lands in North York, Toronto, announced by Live Nation in September 2024 and completed in just nine months, with a planned lifespan of five years before demolition. With a capacity of 50,000, it is the Greater Toronto Area's largest purpose-built music venue, and its naming rights were secured by Rogers Communications for the venue's entire existence. It opened on June 29, 2025, with a Stray Kids concert, and later hosted Oasis in August 2025, marking the band's first North American performance since 2008. However, the venue faced criticism, including Coldplay's Chris Martin calling it a "weird stadium in the middle of nowhere," alongside resident complaints about traffic and noise and concertgoer concerns over crowd control and safety. In September 2026, a severe thunderstorm seriously damaged the stadium, leading to the cancellation of an AC/DC concert, though no injuries were reported. To manage congestion, the TTC and GO Transit offered free post-event transit rides for ticket holders, with subway access at Sheppard West and Downsview Park stations.
