Lee Pace (born March 25, 1979) is an American actor celebrated for his blockbuster roles as Thranduil in The Hobbit trilogy and Ronan the Accuser in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On television, he earned an Emmy nomination for Pushing Daisies, starred in Halt and Catch Fire, and currently plays the galactic emperor Brother Day in Foundation. Raised in Oklahoma, Saudi Arabia, and Texas, he trained at Juilliard alongside actors like Anthony Mackie. His career also boasts significant stage work, including a Broadway debut in The Normal Heart and a revival of Angels in America. He first gained critical recognition for his breakthrough role in the 2003 film Soldier's Girl, which won him a Gotham Award.
