Jose Trevino is an American professional baseball catcher currently playing for the Cincinnati Reds, having previously played for the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees. Drafted by the Rangers in the sixth round of the 2014 MLB draft out of Oral Roberts University, he made his MLB debut in 2018 and quickly made headlines with a walk-off hit in his first series before a shoulder injury ended his season. After being traded to the Yankees in April 2022, he became their starting catcher and earned an All-Star selection that year. His exceptional defense in 2022 earned him a Fielding Bible Award, a Gold Glove Award, and the Platinum Glove Award. Following the 2024 season, the Yankees traded him to the Reds. Before going pro, he played college baseball at Oral Roberts and competed in the Northwoods League and Cape Cod Baseball League.
