Cynthia Klitbo (born March 11, 1967, in Mexico City) is a celebrated Mexican actress renowned for her powerful performances in telenovelas, theater, and film, particularly as a memorable villain. She began her career in 1987, placing second in the "La Modelo del Año" contest—behind Carina Ricco and ahead of future First Lady Angélica Rivera—before starring in early productions like Mi Segunda Madre. Klitbo gained international fame for her roles as the psychotic Laura in La Dueña (1995) and as Tamara in El Privilegio de amar (1998), the latter earning her a TVyNovelas Award for Best Antagonist and requiring her to shave her head for a dramatic scene. Her other notable works include Velo de novia (2003) and Teresa (2010), and she briefly directed the telenovela Alborada in 2005 before leaving due to conflicts and later joining the reality show Bailando por un sueño. In her personal life, she gave birth to her daughter Elisa Fernanda in 2006 and married sculptor David Gerstein in a civil ceremony in 2012, followed by a religious ceremony in 2013.
