Mookie Betts, born Markus Lynn Betts in Nashville in 1992 (his initials cleverly matching MLB), is a superstar outfielder and infielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, having previously starred for the Boston Red Sox. A dominant force in baseball, he is an eight-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove winner, and four-time World Series champion, including a historic 2018 season where he became the first player ever to win the MVP, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove, batting title, and World Series in the same year. Drafted by the Red Sox in 2011, he debuted in 2014, but was traded to the Dodgers in 2020, where he signed a massive 12-year, $365 million contract extension. Beyond baseball, Betts is also a professional ten-pin bowler for the PBA, having bowled a perfect game in the 2017 World Series of Bowling. Interestingly, his mother started her own Little League team when coaches refused to accept him due to his small size, and he was named Tennessee Boys Bowler of the Year in high school.
