Mike McCarthy (born November 10, 1963) is the current head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he is best known for leading the Green Bay Packers to a victory in Super Bowl XLV in 2011 over his hometown Steelers. Over his 19 seasons as an NFL head coach—with the Packers, Dallas Cowboys, and now the Steelers—he has compiled a regular-season record of 174–112–2 and is one of only five coaches to lead a single franchise to eight straight playoff appearances. A Pittsburgh native raised in the blue-collar Greenfield neighborhood, he grew up as a Steelers fan and even worked as a toll collector on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early in his coaching career. His coaching journey began as a graduate assistant at Fort Hays State and the University of Pittsburgh, and he later served as offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints, as well as working with Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana with the Kansas City Chiefs. He is also second only to Curly Lambeau in all-time wins as Packers head coach.
